Better Moms Make A Better World

WHAT IS MOPS? MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is a group of moms who get together to care for, encourage, help, and love one another. We come from different backgrounds and lifestyles and find that we have similar concerns and difficulties. Through the year, we develop friendships to help us through the challenging season of mothering preschoolers. We share ideas and tips and celebrate our successes. When we meet, we eat breakfast, listen to guest speakers, create crafts, and chat. Our guest speakers share valuable information to equip us for our huge jobs in our family and the community. MOPS moms want to be the best moms we can be and we know we're better when we do it together!
AM I A MOPS MOM? Any and every mom with a child ages newborn through kindergarten is welcome at MOPS.
DO I NEED A BABYSITTER? No! A wonderful team of volunteers is ready to care for your child. While you focus on growing as a woman and mother, your child will be participating in MOPPETS. MOPPETS is a program designed especially for our kids that includes puppet shows, crafts, snacks, play time, Bible lessons and more. Our loving, well-trained volunteers are background-checked each year.
WHAT DOES MOPS COST? SVNC MOPS costs $23.95 for the entire year. If you need help paying tuition, just let us know!
WHEN DOES MOPS MEET? SVNC MOPS meets September through May on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For more information about our schedule, click here.
HOW DO I JOIN MOPS? To register for the 2011-2012 year, please join us for Drive-Thru Registration on September 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. here at Spokane Valley Nazarene Church. We'll take all your information, treat you and your child with a gift, and you'll be set for our first meeting.
WHERE CAN I LEARN MORE? To learn more about SVNC MOPS, please contact any of the leaders listed here. You can also find us on Facebook: SVNC MOPS. To learn more about MOPS International, you can visit www.mops.org.

MomSense: Bold · Loving · Sensible
This year at MOPS we'll learn to embrace our mothering instincts and develop our own mothering styles so we can navigate through all our daily mom decisions.  Creating our own mothering strategies can be like playing a game: we must act boldly and take risks, love our teammates, and think sensibly as we figure out how to win. Most of all, we should have fun being a mom!
Ever get the cupcake card when you're already in Lollypop Woods? Sometimes our own game of life can feel this way, too. With MomSense, we can take those “chances” and stay in the game. We'll know when to stick with our own house rules, when to consult the hall of fame (great moms whose kids have grown, like our MOPS Mentors), when to check in with commentators (experts like Dr. James Dobson and Dennis Rainey), and when to ask other coaches (our trusted mom friends). Of course our MomSense works best when we're training with God, our Head Coach, so we'll learn practical ways to start or grow our relationships with Him.

Mom Intuition + Common Sense = MomSense

"God doesn't want us to be shy with His gifts, but bold and loving and sensible."
~2 Timothy 1:7 The Message
