Missions

Our children have decided to invest personally in the lives of two children in need through Compassion; their names are Tricia and Junior Eduardo. The money that they are donating on a weekly basis allows Tricia and Junior to receive opportunities and services that most of the world’s poorest children do not have access to. They are also being taught about Jesus.

So what can you do as a family to help support this commitment your kids have made?

First, take time to pray with them for Tricia, Junior and their families.

Secondly, help remind them to bring their quarters every Sunday.

Thirdly, they have a wonderful opportunity to send words of encouragement that will make a big difference in Tricia and Junior’s lives. These letters will reaffirm that someone in addition to their family really cares about them.

My birthday is June 4th, 2002.
My country is Peru.
Junior lives with his father and mother. His father is sometimes employed as a farmer and his mother maintains the home. Junior works at home caring for animals and running errands. There are 2 children in the family.

Playing ball games and playing group games are Junior's favorite activities. In school his performance is average and he also regularly attends church activities.

My Birthday is January 7, 2002.
My country is Philippines.
Tricia lives with her father and her mother. At home, duties include gardening, helping in the kitchen and running errands. Her father is sometimes employed as a farmer and her mother maintains the home. There are 3 children in the family.

For fun, Tricia enjoys singing, playing house and playing with dolls. She attends church activities and Bible class regularly and is in school where her performance is average.

Children’s Ministries

Our journey of faith

Our "journey of faith" has several steps from birth to graduation from high school. The children's department will walk with you on your journey for the first four steps: Beginnings, Crossings, Quest and Passage. The youth department will walk with you through the last two steps: Compass and Flight. This journey of faith is very important to us and we appreciate your willingness to share it with us. We offer resources to both our parents and children to effectively equip you along your journey.

Beginnings
Campus Event: Baby Dedication/Baptism
Parent Class: "Beginnings"

The class covers the parents' primary role as faith trainers. The church body commits to a partnership with the parents in the faith development of the child throughout their journey during the ceremony. Dedications/Baptisms are on Sunday, November 7th, 2010 and Sunday, Mother's Day, May 8th, 2011.

Crossings
Campus Event: 5th Grade Retreat
Family Celebration: Campout

This second step prepares them for adolescence. We know at this age we need to help prepare our children emotionally, physically and spiritually. This event is used to discuss their fears, concerns and excitement with this new step in their journey. Campout in 2010 is August 27th-28th.

Quest
Campus Event: Catechism Class Fall Quarter

Family Celebration: Personal Testimony & Communion
Parent Class: Parents are encouraged to attend the 6th grade class with their 6th graders.

This class lasts from September - December. We address the core beliefs of the Nazarene denomination. Upon completion of this class the 6th graders start attending Junior High Sunday School class.  Begins 9:30am, Sunday, September 12th, 2010.

Passage
Campus Event: Baptism
Family celebration: "Birthday" Party
Parent Class: Preparing for Your Baptism

Parents are equipped and given resources which allow them to discuss the importance of the baptism. The class is offered after the conclusion of the catechism class.  Look for date in February 2011.
